Best Hours To Trade Forex
The best (and worst) part of the forex market is that it is open for 24 hours per day. The good part is that a trader can participate in trades at any time of the day no matter where they live. However, the bad part is that a trader can't track every single movement of the market (this is the whole reason software like Forex Autopilot was invented).
So, its crucial for any trader to know when to expect high volatility, that is the largest fluctuations. This varies per time zone and per currency pair so below we have an outline of times we feel are the best to trade.
The Asian Session (7PM - 4AM EST)
This is a good time to trade the asian currency pairs, particularly the yen. A suitable currency pair would be the USD/JPY. Above we mentioned high volatility and this session won't usually have that because the highest volatility is with EUR pairs.
The European Session (2AM - 12PM EST)
In our opinion this is the best time to trade because the market can jump around very quickly. The reason for this is because most of the larger financial institutions are located in central London and lots of big trades happen over this time. In fact, there is a method specifically designed to take advantage of this known as the The London Forex Rush System. We also like this time because almost all currencies pairs can prove extremely profitable.
The U.S. Session (8AM - 5PM EST)
The majority of trades happen during this time because volatility is good and there are a good range of strategies to profit from with all of the currency pairs.
If you are savvy you probably noticed that there is an overlap between the European and US trading session between 8AM and 12PM EST. There is an absolute tonne of money traded during this period and people make fortunes every single day during those hours. You are able to trade any currency pair and volatility is almost always good.
So, get yourself a good system, get out there and make some money :)
